Hello Everyone!

Here it is July already. I don’t know about you, but this month went by very quickly for me. I guess that means I stayed busy. Alexandria GLCA stayed busy as well. We were back at Stardust for our June First Tuesday Social, we had another successful book club meeting, we held our Game Night evening and we had Breakfast and a Movie.

The City of Alexandria seeks a representative from Alexandria GLCA to serve as Committeeperson to the 2010 Complete Count Committee. This committee will do important work in reaching out to Alexandrians and encouraging them to participate in the 2010 U.S. Census. The City regards our community to be important and wishes to ensure that it is engaged with the upcoming 2010 Census.

If you are interested in serving in this capacity, please e-mail president@aglca.org and let me know. The next meeting will be held on July 9, 7PM at City Hall.

That's right, the Alexandria GLCA has a group page now on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com). For those of you that are Facebook savvy look us up and join the group. Facebook is a fun and entertaining way to keep in touch with other Alexandria GLCA members, interested members and other organizations. If you belong to Facebook, simply go to the search bar and type in AGLCA. Not to worry, we'll still be sending out the monthly newsletter and updates as we do now, this is just a new and fun way to stay in touch with each other. Hope to see many of you join.

All Alexandria GLCA memberships are based on the calendar year, and you DON'T want to miss out on the great social and educational events we have planned for 2009. It's an absolute fact that using your Alexandria GLCA Membership Benefits Card throughout the year can easily pay for your club dues!

Memberships are only $25 a year for an individual; $35 for a couple.
