Richard Kalnins, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Residential
Brokerage of Old Town , believes
that being an active member of the Alexandria GLCA
is an important personal and professional part of his
life as a gay man in Alexandria.
Through Alexandria GLCA, he has met many men and women
whom he likes and admires, and many have also become
good friends and clients.
Richard has made it a priority to attend Alexandria GLCA's monthly meetings and participate in our educational and social networking events. He has actively recruited members, contributed to the scholarship fund, and organized and sponsored events on befhalf of his real estate company. Joining the board of directors is a logical extension of his active involvement in the association. His goal is to work through the Alexandria GLCA to make Alexandria a better place for ALL people, regardless of sexual orientation.
Vice President
Gerda Edwards retired from the Navy after 27 years as an
Information
Professional. She now has her own company and is an active
trader in the currency market, building wealth for corporate
accounts.
As a member for over a year, she believes that the Alexandria GLCA can sustain the momentum of past success as well as build an even stronger presence in Alexandria. This organization is a GREAT place to network, build friendships, and give back to the community. Gerda is also the team leader for the Friendly Business Program.
Treasurer
Sarah Robbins joined AGLCA in 2005. Since joining she's
enjoyed coordinating several successful events for
the group such as AGLCA's Team for the Whitman Walker Clinic AIDS,
an outing to Wolf
Trap and a Pub Crawl highlighting AGLCA friendly
business on King Street.
Sarah is the Director of Finance & Corporate Administration for Creative Computing Solutions, Inc. (CCSi). She appreciates the opportunity to serve as Treasurer to capitalize on her professional skills to better serve AGCLA.
Secretary
Billy
Lechert is a healthcare designer in the Old Town area and has been
a participating member of the Alexandria GLCA for
over two years now. When he first started to attend meetings, his
mind was left
open to the experience. He’s enjoyed attending the
different types of social events and has made some close friends,
acquaintances,
and business contacts. Billy has supported the Alexandria
GLCA Scholarship Fund as well as organized events in the past.
Billy’s goal as Secretary for the AGLCA, is to work with the other board members and the whole AGLCA organization in creating new friendly business alliances, discovering more diverse social programs so that all members have events that they can attend, and to of course continue to find new members, regardless of sexual orientation, who participate in and support not only the AGLCA but all gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender communities.
Membership Coordinator
Juan Noboa has been a proud member of the Alexandria
GLCA since moving to Alexandria in 2005. Juan works as a loan
officer, a Spanish language tutor, and a freelance translator.
As a member of
the Latino gay community, Juan recently participated in organizing
events to celebrate the GLBT Hispanic Heritage Month in Washington,
DC. As
Membership Coordinator for the Alexandria GLCA, Juan intends
to actively work on the retention, expansion, and diversification
of our membership.
