Skate Night

Skating is 7:45-8:45 pm at the Ballston Iceplex (on top of the Ballston Common Mall). Then, we head to a restaurant in the mall for a social from about 9 - 10:30, or whenever people split up.

Skating on Wednesday nights is open to the public, but it's adults only, and shouldn't be very crowded.

AGLCA JOINS DC ICE BREAKERS FOR AN EVENING OF ICE SKATING AND SOCIALIZING

Grab your mittens, 'cause AGLCA is joining the DC Ice Breakers for a great new way to socialize - an hour of casual ice skating, followed by food, drinks, and conversation at a restaurant near the rink.

It all takes place at the Ballston Common Mall in Arlington, just 2 short blocks from the Ballston Metro station. We'll start out skating at the new Capitals Iceplex on top of the Ballston Common Mall parking garage – plenty of cheap parking is available. Got two left feet, when it comes to skating? You'll be in good company - many of the DC Ice Breakers have never skated before. Rather not skate? No problem! Just come and watch your friends "slip sliding away" (no charge).

After skating, we'll head to Bailey's Pub in the mall below the rink, for an hour or 2 of socializing with members of the DC Ice Breakers. Bailey's will treat us to FREE (limited) pizza, wings, chips and dip, FREE use of a pool table, and FREE use of the tabletop shuffleboard!

- WHEN: Wednesday, August 18. Skating from 7:45 - 8:45 pm (plan to arrive a few minutes early, to rent your skates), followed by a social at Bailey's Pub (in the mall, below the rink) from 9:00 - ????

- METRO: It's just 2 short blocks from the Ballston Metro station.

- COST: Skating is $8, plus $3 for skate rental. There's no charge just to watch. The social at Bailey's is individual tabs.

- SUGGESTED ATTIRE: The rink is fully enclosed. You may want to wear a light jacket and/or gloves.
